For your reading pleasure... This is a collection of random links and comments I've read about the iPhone. It seems people love it or hate it for the most part. On the surface, I think it is grossly overpriced and the iPod-ish built in flaws of the battery and being locked to one network can be described as sinister at best. Neat piece of technology none the less. Ground breaking? Not so much. The most entertaining and realistic iPhone review I've read: http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=iphone And a related array of comments on MAC users in general: http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=macs_cant

it ....is everything it's cracked up to be. I really dont understand why this phone is getting so many
good reviews, the price alone is oustandingly stupid given its
HALF
the price of 13-inch MacBook. Or hell with a years worth of the iphone (oh but
minus the voice plan) you would have paid for the MacBook with the voice plan
you could have gotten a high end MacBook. I really wanted to be excited about this phone, i honestly
did. But the price is a big kick in the face... i say buy a mac book (people
will still think youre cool, when you pull it out at the cafe) and get skype...
or hell you can get a skype phone for you macbook. At least with the iPhone you can view porn on the bus. The wireless over 802.11 is awesome. The web browser in it, is ACTUALLY USABLE! I know, that's
scary, but any other phone I've used where I wanted to browse a website
absolutely sucked. And I'm sorry, but driving 75 on the highway and using a
stylus is not in my top 10 things to do. The convergence of these technologies, and the clean,
wonderful UI design, make this phone completely revolutionary. Yes, there is no
expandable memory, removable battery, chat program, or GPS. If someone else
designs a phone that has the touchscreen, everything that the iPhone has and
more, well, I'd probably buy that one too. But to date, everyone else in the
phone industry seems to be MIA. Sorry disbelievers: it's a brilliantly designed device. The
voice quality is perfect. The software is a dream, especially compared to
Windows Mobile and the insane maze of nested menus. I've got 200 CDs on it, all
my chondro photos, and Google maps, and Youtube videos, and TV shows and movies
and a good camera. The voicemail system is brilliant and revolutionary. So is
the touchscreen. It's the first true internet experience on a cell. I can check
MVF posts from anywhere. And the software is so well designed that I can run it
all with one thumb while I'm driving. Is it perfect? No, EDGE is slow, and ATT isn't the best
carrier. Anyone that has used a cell phone for more than 6 months knows that the battery is probably 99% of the time the first thing to go bad. Yet its ok to pay 600 dollars for something that you cant even change that. Have no option of the network used, and poor call quality, all of which is what makes a good phone from a bad phone. What apple does know how to do is market their products. This
didnt need as much coaxing, as the market needs a more intuitive cell phone than
most of the crap out there. That and piggy backing on the craze of the ipod,
which is not better than other mp3 products, but has all of the hoopla
surrounding it. This has only fueled the iphone even that much more. Like I
said, put that phone on sprint and verizon's networks also, and they would have
sold so many more units it would have been ridiculous.
